Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately no. We love animals, but some guests don't do a good job cleaning after their pets, and others allow their pets to damage our property. Also, our environment is wrought with potential troubles for your pet - we have large breed protection dogs, cats, and horses. So for your pet's well-being, to ensure the best experience for all guests, and to preserve the condition of our animals and property, we've made the difficult decision to prohibit pets. Under federal guidelines and platform policies, Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) do not qualify as trained service animals. Therefore, we unfortunately cannot accommodate your animal at this property. While we maintain a strict "no pets" policy for standard bookings, we fully support the inclusion of legally recognized service animals and are happy to accommodate you. If you have an ADA qualified licensed service dog, please consider these legal conditions:Species limitation: Under ADA Titles II and III, only dogs (and in specific separate provisions, miniature horses) qualify as service animals. Other species, whether wild or domestic, do not qualify.Trained tasks required: The animal must perform specific, quantifiable actions (e.g., pulling a wheelchair, alerting to a seizure, or interrupting self-harm). Animals whose sole function is providing comfort, well-being, or emotional support do not qualify. Permitted inquiries: Before booking can be confirmed, guests with legally qualified service animals must provide the following information:(1) Is the animal required because of a disability? and (2) What work or task has the animal been trained to perform? Misrepresentation is a criminal act: In South Dakota, it is a Class 2 Misdemeanor to misrepresent an animal as a service animal for the purpose of gaining access to or special accommodations, including retail establishiments. SDCL: Ch22-35Charge for actual damages: If the service dog causes physical damage to RSR property, you will be charged exactly as any non-disabled guest who broke or damaged property.Enforce behavioral standards: The dog must be under the handler's control at all times (usually on a leash or tether) and must be housebroken.Grounds for removal: RSR can legally demand the dog be removed from the property if the animal is out of control and the handler refuses to correct it, or if the dog has defecated/urinated inside the dome, on any constructed surface, or on any vehicle on the property. Your host will identify a designated relief area for your service dog.The dog cannot be left alone: Service dogs are meant to assist their handlers. If a guest leaves the service dog completely unattended in your rental property, it violates the ADA and can be treated as a violation of your rental agreement. Restricted Areas: RSR will show guests the designated 'pet relief' area and guests are asked to use only this area for that purpose. RSR will also show guests boundaries for outdoor spaces where service dogs are allowed to be walked. Service dogs are not allowed oustide the designated boundaries for their safety, and for the safety of our dogs, horses, and cats. Please contact us to get approval before you attempt to book. Thank you!
Are children allowed?
No child guest under the age of 16 is allowed on the property. Please prepare to provide proof of age for your child 16 and older. For their safety, all guests under age 18 must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian in all areas of the property, including the bathrooms.
